We have learned with great sorrow that an attack was perpetrated this morning (2 June) with a remote controlled bomb against the company vehicle carrying the personnel of Turkish EMTA Construction Company operating in Afghanistan, on its way to its worksite in Jalalabad Province, approximately 150 km away from Kabul; and that as a result of this heinous attack, Turkish citizens working at EMTA, Fuat Taş (Project Manager), Ümit Ünal and Halil Gül lost their lives and Ahmet Şahinoğlu was injured. We wish God’s mercy upon our citizens who lost their lives in the attack, convey our condolences to their families and wish a speedy recovery to our wounded citizen.

We strongly condemn this heinous attack whose perpetrators are still unknown. We expect Afghan authorities to urgently capture the perpetrators of this terrorist act and bring them to justice.

On the other hand, our resolve towards helping friendly and brotherly Afghanistan in every field remains intact.
