QA-38, 10 July 2017, Statement of Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hüseyin Müftüoğlu, in response to a question regarding the Austrian authorities’ obstruction of the visit of Mr. Nihat Zeybekci, Minister of Economy, to Vienna within the framework of commemoration events of July 15.

Republic Of Türkiye Ministry Of Foreign Affairs 10.07.2017

The approach of the Austrian authorities regarding the prospective visit of Mr. Nihat Zeybekci, Minister of Economy, to Vienna to meet with the Turkish community living in Austria within the scope of July 15, Democracy and National Unity Day, is unfortunate.

The obstruction put against the planned visit of our Economy Minister for his participation in an event to commemorate the martyrs and veterans who stood up against the heinous coup attempt and upheld democracy, shows that Austria is not sincere in her attitude in defending democratic values.
